Bradford Stone
In 1862, during the long tail of the American Gold Rush, Tony Bradford stumbled upon a geode with unusual properties in the hills outside Eureka. This geode magnified and reflected light, converting its own mass into energy at a prodigious rate.
Law and Politics
All citizens are expected to be polite and gentle to all other citizens. The higher your social class, the higher the expectation.
Eureka society is partitioned into four social classes and movement between classes is very rare and viewed unfavorably.
- Laborer - hard labor for professionals and merchants
- Professional - skilled laborers
- Merchant - owns and managed property such as factories or merchant ships
- Aristocrat - generational wealth and responsibility for the well being of all citizens
Rules of Aggression
- No citizen may instigate a fight against another citizen.
- Grievances may be raised within the law and settled in court or by duel.
- The law favors higher classes, giving the benefit of the doubt to those who are more responsible.
