The world of Obsidian Reign takes place in the city of Eureka which is loosely based on the California town of the same name and transformed into a grim dark gas-punk world, thematically adjacent to Victorian Steam-Punk.

Law and Politics

All citizens are expected to be polite and gentle to all other citizens. The higher your social class, the higher the expectation.

Eureka society is partitioned into four social classes and movement between classes is very rare and viewed unfavorably.

• Laborer - hard labor for professionals and merchants
• Professional - skilled laborers
• Merchant - owns and managed property such as factories or merchant ships
• Aristocrat - generational wealth and responsibility for the well being of all citizens

Rules of Aggression

• No citizen may instigate a fight against another citizen.
• Grievances may be raised within the law and settled in court or by duel.
• The law favors higher classes, giving the benefit of the doubt to those who are more responsible.
