## Construct
"Lost Cyborg of the Fallen Empire"
Constructs are artificial creatures created for a specific purpose, even if that purpose is long forgotten. Constructs do not form societies outside of their functional purpose. They do not eat, breathe, sleep, or process waste. They are unaffected by biological poison, disease, and other ailments that are not specifically designed to harm them. But constructs are not people and they have no rights or legal standing outside their own micro-cultures.
## Duergar
"Deep Dwarf of Karholdt"
Duergar are a short, stout race that is exceedingly industrious. They excel at prospecting, mining, processing, and crafting raw materials into high quality goods. Duergar society is generally partitioned into communist enclaves, often underground or heavily fortified, located on or near resource deposits. Duergar feel communal ownership of everything they create; they may loan or rent products to outside cultures but always believe that the objects are owned by the enclave that created them, never by the person posessing them.
## Fae
"Sylvan Elf of the Frozen Forest"
Fae are tall and thin, creative and beautiful, fragile and long-lived. Fae are excellent artists, scientists, and diplomats. Fae society is a strong meritocracy, fae are not jealous or ambitious and generally want the most effective person in a role even if it isn't them personally. They are very cautious, to the point of appearing cowardly by most other cultures; they would prefer to spend a decade analyzing and debating than make a wrong choice.
## Humans
"Disgraced Copper Merchant of Ur"
Humans are clever, creative, ambitious, and selfish. Humans create overly complex systems of economics and government, creating a stratified society where a small portion of the population controls an over-sized portion of the power and resources. Despite this they are curious, productive, and inventive. Humans have no fear of trying new things or opposing established systems.
## Saurian
"Soldier of the Burning Troglodytes"
Saurians are strong, fierce, loyal, and selfless. They have thick hide and a culture that encourages competition and conflict. Saurians are not war-mongers, but they will not back down from a fair fight. They organize into tribal groups and are eternally loyal to those groups, to the point where "group think" is the way of life, with prestige and power granted to the most successful competitors.
