Skills are an alternative to free-form traits. Each skill works exactly like a trait in every respect, except that they can not be combined with each other. When using skills, combine it with equipment or a core trait to build the action pool. Skills are learned abilities, each represents a wide range of related activities. Skills can be specialized, adding a bonus to a more specific type of action. Skill specialties represent focused training in a more specific activity, equivalent to a profession or college course. - **Academics** Knowledge of things: history, cosmology, zoology, engineering, science, philosophy. - **Athletics** Physical activities that involve strength or coordination: running, swimming, climbing. - **Awareness** Alertness, perception, and the ability to observe things. - **Ballistics** The ability to hit a target with a ranged weapon. - **Bushcraft** Wilderness survival, outdoor navigation, plant/animal identification, etc. - **Combat** The skill of melee combat, including parry and block. - **Evade** The ability to avoid and resist dangerous effects: duck, dodge, and dive. - **Intuition** When no other skill applies, call it intuition. - **Larceny** Thievery, infiltration, crime, and criminals. - **Medical** Knowledge of human biology: disease, poison, and first aid. - **Operate** Skill in operating machines and vehicles of all kinds. - **Repair** Understanding, repair, and modification of equipment and mechanical devices. - **Savoir-Faire** The ability to act appropriately in social situations: persuasion and leadership. - **Streetwise** Surviving and thriving in civilization: guilds, commerce, laws, and customs. - **Subterfuge** Stealth, misdirection, deceit, disguise, etc. - **Wyrd** The practice of sorcery and knowledge of the supernatural. **Specialty**: A skill specialty is a specific focus for a skill and gives a +2 bonus for any action related to that specialty. ## License Asmythe TTRPG is published under the [Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International license.](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/)
