## Mackpat
Mackpat is a giant orange star encircled by an ancient Dyson Ring. No one knows who created the ring or if they still inhabit it somewhere. Because of the ring, Mackpat has more habitable land than the rest of the sector combined. The ring is home to every known species and culture, and probably many that have not yet been discovered.
There is no dusk or sunrise on the ring, because night is caused by massive planet-sized objects that obscure the sun every 10 hours for 10 hours.
In the year 8423 The Builders revealed themselves by activating an event they called "The Awakening". In a mater of hours every member of any galactic civilization present the ring was annihilated. Only native inhabitants survived. Afterward an impenetrable barrier manifested around the entire star with a radius roughly twice that of the Mackpat ring itself, permanently sealing the ring off from the rest of the galaxy.
## TULiP Rehabilitation Resort
The Tulip Resort is a small farming community for unhappy citizens who are unsatisfied with their life in the empire and need a new place to reside. Tulip prefers not to use the terms "criminal" or "prisoner". The resort grows vetch, a fast-growing vegetable used as organic waste, but mostly processes it into lumina for the empire.
Tulip Resort is managed by a democratic council of Dirt Vendor executives. Only executives are eligible to run for office and all residents of the resort are encouraged to vote. Although some residents doubt the accuracy of the election process, they are firmly assured that it is fair and balanced.
The resort runs a booming business, lumina is always in demand, and a small colony has grown outside its walls. The colony of Vetch Station processes lumina into grey-market power cells and provides black-market goods to the resort.
## Factions
* The resort is run by the Dirt Vendors, a Noramor corporation, and their formori enforcers.
* The Doctors are Xyndari scientists who experiment on dead and dying residents.
* Mutant Purists advocate for the formori enforcers and are rumored to be responsible for the occasional accidental death of anybody who complains about their tactics.
* Succubi are a minor faction of daemons who run a black-market to provide drugs, tech, and anything else residents want. Their goods are very low quality and often have unfortunate side effects.
* Luminars operates in secret inside the resident population. They encourage residents to revolt and eventually overthrow the Dirt Vendors and destroy the resort. The Luminars are suspected of spreading prophecies about the destruction of the resort.
* Vetch Station was founded by a group of Apwaha and Zug refugees who came to the resort seeking shelter. The Dirt Vendors exploited them to setup additional processing facilities and those grey-market products fueled the growth of Vetch Station.
## The City of Glass
The City of Glass is an ancient city of transparent and translucent material in dazzling colors. It is surrounded by a hedge of flowing bushes made of the same material. The "glass" is impervious to any known technology and razor sharp on its edges. When it cuts it drains the blood, life, and lumina from the creature.
Powered craft malfunction near the city and any who have attempted to enter it have never returned.
Legend say it was built by The Builders and some of them still live there.
